Product Description

This book details everything you need to know scripturally about Mary, Catholicisms memorized prayers, the Seven Sacraments, and more! This book was written with simplicity but is very insightful and biblical. "A blistering repudiation of the Roman Catholic interpretation of the biblical Mary. The figure of Mary has always played a central role in the Catholic tradition, both theologically and sacramentally. Debut author Ruste, however, aims to show Mary's lionization as scripturally baseless. The first third of his book focuses squarely on her significance within Catholicism and attempts to overturn familiar teachings. For example, the author challenges the presumption that Mary was born sinless, which is at the heart of the Immaculate Conception doctrine. Furthermore, he asserts that she was never intended to be considered the mother of God, didn't remain a virgin after Jesus' birth, and is misguidedly worshipped as if she were a divine personage. The author devotes the remainder of the book to characterizing traditional Catholic prayers as misconceived blasphemy and the sacraments as biblically unsound folly. Although Mary remains a recurrent theme, the real target of this study is Catholicism itself, which the author argues is not only riddled with falsehoods, but also morally suspect. Ruste, a self-proclaimed theological autodidact, largely avoids relying upon secondary literature and mainly rests his arguments upon his own selections from scripture. For someone without any formal training, his exegetical skill and breadth of knowledge is admirable; for example, he sometimes analyzes Catholic translations of the New Testament against the original Greek text." - Kirkus Indie - A review service from Kirkus Reviews
