Spanning a period starting when I was a U.P. freshman college student during the darkest years of the Marcos martial law dictatorship, my social inquiry found in these essays chronicles the tumultuous events that have transpired from the Marcos regime to the present. Organized into seven themes, the essays place these historic events affecting the academe and the nation from the Marcos era to the present against the framework of how they have affected the basic masses, especially the toiling masses, and the country's sovereignty.”
