The landscapes in cities around the world have always been changing – by the processes of industrialization, economic development, expansion of transportation networks and demographic transitions. So it is with Hong Kong as well. Launched in 2016, two years prior to the re-opening of the Mills, Archiving The Mills Through The Lens is a photographic documentary project by five Hong Kong artists focusing on the industrial heritage conservation of The Mills and its relation to the surrounding town of Tsuen Wan. The goal of this project is to capture moments of transformation during the conservation process of The Mills on Tsuen Wan in order to pass them on to future generations.
