This book provides references and clarifies ideas about intellectuals and their role in the development of Vietnam today. In Vietnam, the decisive factor in the development is the highly qualified human resource, of which the central role is the intellectual team. The reality of 30 years of renovation shows that Vietnamese intellectuals have made great strides: rapid development in number, quality improvement with progressive thinking; directly advise, comment, and criticize major State policies; make significant contributions in all areas of life, economy and society; plays a driving force in the research and application of scientific and technological advances. However, compared to the requirements of the process of industrialization, modernization and international integration, the Vietnamese intellectual team has not really promoted its pioneering role as the nucleus of the development motivation system.
