Professor Phong Le, whose real name is Le Phong Su, was born on November 10, 1938 in Son Tra, Huong Son District, Ha Tinh Province. He is a researcher and critic of modern Vietnamese literature, former Director of the Literature Institute of the National Center for Social Sciences and Humanities. Phong Le wrote and edited about 30 theoretical and research works on Vietnamese literature in the 20th century.
