Knowing one’s rights under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines is a way of empowering one’s self as an artist. Furthermore, such knowledge serves to inform other art and cultural sectors on the acceptance ways of dealing with copyright issues. It is hoped that publishers, producers, editors, artistic directors of performing companies, gallery owners and curators, government agencies, and other sectors that deal with commissioning of works, payments of royalties, publication of books, giving of grants and any other scheme for the sale, reproduction, performance, broadcast, recording of art, and the remuneration of artists will benefit from this handbook.
