This book examines China’s achievements in port construction. Comprising five parts, it reviews the history of China’s port development with a focus on the country’s strengths in a complete industrial chain and technology since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and particularly since the 18th CPC National Congress. China owns a number of world-class ports, and its exceptional strengths in port design, site selection, wharf construction, channel dredging, dredger design and manufacture, port machinery manufacture, and fully automated wharfs ensure its capability of building port facilities anywhere in the world.
