The main objectives of the study were (a) Analysis of important schemes and programmes by the Central and State Governments, (b) Effectiveness of implementation of the programmes and, (c) To suggest some viable strategy to improve the effectiveness. The universe of the study is Koraput region consisting of four districts i.e. Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Rayagada. The study has covered two districts, three blocks from each selected district, two panchayats from each block, two villages from each panchayat and 12 households from each village on the basis of multi-stage random sampling.
