Their belief, rituals in relation to the erection of memorial stone in the memory of ancestor is still practice among different Gonds. Ancestor worship is found in almost all culture of the world. Ancestor veneration is based on love and respect for the departed soul. Ancestor worship fosters kinship values, such as filial piety, family loyalty and continuity of the family lineage. The living progeny expresses its love and veneration for its deceased ancestors in many ways. Ancestor worship is also based on the belief that the dead have a continuous existence and have the power to influence the lives of the living, that they bestow their blessing if they are propitiated properly.
