In recent times Nigeria has witnessed worst security challenges. In all the geopolitical zones of the country security threats have been overwhelming. The ethno-religious colouration of these challenges have threatened even the survival of the state. We argued in this book that the fragile nature of the state has exacerbated these challenges. The security threats have further reinforced the fragility of the state These security infractions include: the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East, herders’ farmers conflict in the North Central, Banditry and cattle rustling in the North West, Separatist agitations in the south East and agitations for resource control in the south south. Kidnappings and herder farmer conflict in the south west. We recommended more citizen engagement in the Security sector, inclusive governance to take away the wind from the sailing ship of separatist agitators, more collaboration and synergy among the Security organisations and specific Government intervention to tackle unemployment among others.
