The Journal aims to provide original in depth investigations of both theoretical and practical questions on international humanitarian law and related themes within public international law, especially those with a focus on the African context. The journal's raison d'etre is to promote scholarly discourse by way of publications scholarly articles whose purpose is to contribute to and advance the academic debate, as well as those aiming to provide analysis of development in jurisprudence, international instruments and practice in the field of international humanitarian law. The Journal's coverage spans international humanitarian law and all other areas of law with a bearing to or nexus with armed conflict and warfare. At a time when the world is witnessing the immense technological advancements and increasingly sophisticated methods of warfare, the journal is an essential read for humanitarian actors and generally anyone who interacts with international humanitarian law either as a judge, judicial officer, lawyer, state officer, government official, member of armed and disciplined forces, stakeholders in external and internal security sectors, academic graduate/post graduate students.
