Although Nigeria’s Fourth Republic has survived longer than any of the three, the country has witnessed severe and persistent challenges, including clashes over the imposition of Sharia’h laws, Niger Delta crises, the Boko Haram insurgency, and other cases of violence. This book provides a comparative analysis of the political, economic, and social challenges that Nigeria has faced in the Fourth Republic. It examines how these issues were either resolved or left unresolved in the bid to ensure the survival of democratic rule.
