What seems to come across so strongly from pages (that follow) is the sheer elegance of so many of the buildings and fixtures of old Karachi. While the town still claims a unique architectural and historical heritage, these photographs recall from what a rich stock that heritage is drawn, and how much of it has been destroyed or vandalized since the beginning of this century. From Kurrachee To Karachi encompasses my nostalgic journey through time using vintage postcards and photographs handpicked from my personal collection, along with paintings of Karachi's beautiful Victorian, Edwardian and Gothic style architecture. The book is a simple compilation interlaced with brief text instead of tedious sojourns. It is not intended to be any sort of travelers' guide to Karachi or a researched history book, since I do not consider myself an expert on Karachi. It is my way of showing gratitude to the city that has given me so much and still continues to do so.
