The Anglican Diocese of Lagos is the oldest Anglican Diocese in Nigeria. But before the creation of the Diocese in 1919, Lagos had been an important center of Missionary activities. The book first traced the arrival of Anglican Church (CMS) in Nigeria in 1842 which also marked the arrival of Christianity in this country. The author presents to the reader the advent of Christianity in Lagos at the request of the then Governor of Lagos after it became part of British Colony in 1851. It also gives the account of how Lagos Anglican Mission developed and became the headquarters in the latter part of the 19th Century. In 1919, Lagos became an autonomous Anglican Diocese and the seat of the first Archbishop of West Africa in 1951. The book carefully examine the growth and development of the Anglican Diocese of Lagos till date.
