Emily Cumming Harris (1837-1925) was a vibrant writer of poems, letters and diaries and the painter of exquisite and important botanical works of art. A child of the early New Zealand colony, she had to make her way in challenging times and her determination to have her work noticed for it to matter was unending. Her life story has been almost lost to history, but this loving amalgam of 200 images and rich text brings her back into deserved focus.
