Efforts towards achieving sustainable development in any nation require an all-encompassing improvement in all major sectors. Aside the consideration of economic, political and socio-cultural factors that have enhanced sustainable development, especially in most developed countries of the world, the attainment of maximum level of health among individuals of a country is another considerable factor that has led to the successes of these countries. The National Youth Service Corps NYSC have prioritised the development in health since the inception of its Community Development Service (CDS) programmes in the 1980s.
