The concept of citizenship as a generalized right is premised on certain fundamental principles of equality, liberty and participation in relation to a specific society. The citizen is not just recognized as an active private political person but also having social, economic and political rights constitutionally recognized to any member of the political community. In Nigeria with so many multi-national groups the conceptualization of the term citizenship is always presented to be highly problematic.
