By contrast Islamic culture has shaped the history of the Muslim world and fashioned Islamic society. The Qur'an and the Sunnah which are the two parts of divine revelations have set out the values and essential principles which govern the life of Islamic society and its individual members. As such it is Islamic culture that shapes Islamic history.
