The book discusses various family law issues with a detailed study of the key cases. It covers the civil law aspect of family law that applies to non-Muslim citizens both in Peninsular and East Malaysia – the Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Kadazan Dusuns, Dayaks, Muruts, Bidayuhs, Orang Ulus and Bajaus. Family Law in Malaysia includes a chapter on domestic violence where the Domestic Violence Act 1994 is discussed. Part II of the book covers the status of children, including their citizenship rights as provided for under Article 14(1) of the Federal Constitution and parental child abduction.
