Soft Skills: The What, The Why & The How is a book about human experiences and encounters with human values and human activities. Some are pleasing, some are not; but either way, they are part of our lives, at home, at work and in the community at large. THE WHAT explains the concept of soft skills at personal and social competence level. Some of which are complex while some are simple that make us wonder how these were missed as part of our lives. THE WHY explains the significance of these values at work and provides evidence to show why soft skills are crucial to, for instance, the health professions. Nursing, being the profession requiring the highest degree of soft skills, has been cited in this book as reflections of what exist in the working world. THE HOW explains a constellation of strategies to prepare students in higher education to have soft skills. A minimum of eight strategies have been highlighted; the combination of which it consciously and consistently implemented, could guarantee the successful development of soft skill in graduates – the employees in waiting.
