La Hu is one of the ethnic groups with the least population of all ethnic groups in Vietnam. According to 2009 statistics, the La Hu people had 9,651 people belonging to 3 groups: La Hu Na (La Hu Black), La Hu Su (La Hu Vang), La Hu Phung (La Hu white), living mainly in Muong district. Te, Lai Chau province. The La Hu language belongs to the Tibeto-Burman group. In the mid-twentieth century and earlier, the La Hu people did not live in a crowded gathering like many other ethnic groups in the northern border. They live in isolation, each village has only a few roofs where relatives live together. The La Hu people like to choose steep mountain areas for shifting cultivation. They set up tents that covered the leaves of the forest, fined trees for seeding, broke the land for cultivation, sowed corn in the fields, and planted cassava. When the leaves on the roof of the tent turn yellow, they will leave that mountain and go to another mountain. From that custom, the La Hu people also have another name as "Xa La Vang" ....
