This book was published to provide an overview of the maritime and island cultural systems in the North Central region. This book contains 3 main topics: 1. Identify and clarify the characteristics of maritime and island culture in the North Central region (including provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue): history of formation and development; natural, economic and social environment. 2. Summarize and evaluate the typical cultural values of the region through typical cultural elements such as: customs, practices, livelihood activities, beliefs, rituals and festivals, literature, folk performances...; Situation of protection and promotion of such cultural values in the context of modernization and international integration. 3. Trends in changing and developing maritime and island culture; solutions to protect and promote the cultural values of the maritime and islands in the future.
