The first Chapter of the Book details the first five years of the Catholic History of Pasig which stretches to 15 August 1571 — which will reach 450 years a little less than a month from now — when Fray Alvarado and the conquistadores traversed the Pasig River to reach Cainta, the first among their destinations. Sometime during the conquest, Fray Alvarado was sent home early by the Captain due to the friar's old age and frail health. Fray Alvrado and some men then went from Paracale to Bay (Laguna) to Taytay to Cainta then to Pasig where, as the Conquistas says, he preached to the Moro inhabitants of the area. The sources of these facts and a more comprehensive explanation can be found in the book, though some of the primary sources have been indicated here. This history of Pasig is yet to be known by many, and is awaiting to be known by those who purchase and read the book, especially its first chapter.
