Golden intangible cultural heritage of eastern India (UNESCO, 2010), Chhau dance indicates identity of large sections of people in Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha, earned popularities in Globe. Forty eight artists (three Padmashree Awardees), four university faculties, scholars and chhau administrators contribute fifty-seven articles to cover the socio-economic and politico-historical perspective of chhau dance in entire culture area with its all Gharanas.
