Poetry is considered as the supreme form of literature in terms of depicting permanent truths related to the reality of human existence. The poets belonging to pre or post-independence era in Indian Writing in English follow the great tradition of poetry with their poetic art and craft. Among them, Nissim Ezekiel shows his class in depicting human life in the context of dilemma and conflict caused by modernity in unique manner.
