It is a pioneering attempt in which the complete history of Uttarakhans, from sone Age to 1949, when Tehri Garhwal State integrated with the Indian Union, has been included in one week. It has added new information and unearthed new sources to corroborate the views of the author. New facts have been provided on both the chand dynasty of Kumaon and the Parmer rulers of Garhwal as well as Tehri Garhwal State. During the British rule from 1815 to 1947 Uttarakhand had assumed an international status regarding its political hisory, but all the historians have totally overlooked this fact and dealt the history of the State with a regional perspective.
