The book focuses on key issues such as factors influencing the adaptation of island Southeast Asian states to China's increasing influence. The authors analyze and clarify the impact of interactions between China and the island Southeast Asian countries from the period before the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China; strategic competition among major countries in the region; impact from the East Sea issue, from the transformation of ASEAN, as well as from China. In addition, the authors present the method of increasing China's influence over the island Southeast Asian countries, thereby analyzing the specific adaptation measures and areas of each country to the Chinese factor. In this book, the authors also analyze the impact of these processes on ASEAN and especially on Vietnam thereby showing the adaptation trend of the island Southeast Asian countries to the increasing influence of China in the coming time.
