He was sickly as an infant. Growing up, he was so fragile that his grandmother kept him away from any kind of domestic chore – even the ones performed by the females. But Murtala Osuolale Salami had a fecund mind which was how his curiosity about letter “Z” - not in his Yoruba language – made Military School, Zaria as the secondary school to attend. From a boy soldier, he rose, many years later, to a distinguished Air Force officer. This book captures in felicitous English language in his journey from infancy through his exploits in the military till his forced retirement, to life as a civilian, to his struggles for the development of his beloved home town, Erin-Ile, in Nigeria’s Kwara State, neighbourhood association politics and his love and care for his family, immediate and extended. It is an autobiography with a refreshing difference.
