Six Chapters of a Floating Life is an autobiographical prose novel written by Shen Fu, a literati in the Qing Dynasty. He narrates the experience of most of his life with simple writing style, and the contrast between joy and sorrow is vivid and moving. The book describes him and his wife. Chen Yun shared the same interests, and the husband and wife were deeply affectionate, but because of the suffering of poverty, his ideals were finally shattered and he experienced the pain of life and death. Six Chapters of a Floating Life was first published in the fourth year of Guangxu (1878). It has been circulated at home and abroad for a hundred years, and there are more than 200 editions so far. It is known as Little Dream of Red Mansions in the Late Qing Dynasty. This book is an English-Chinese bilingual version, and the English translator is Shirley M. Black (Shirley M. Black). The first edition was published in 1960, and the translation is easy to understand. The book also comes with a reading audio, which is convenient for readers to appreciate.
