The express objective for creating this book has always been to provide a concise introduction to various bird species regularly occurring in Singapore. The content has been carefully designed and researched to provide the reader with key insight regarding these birds. In addition, this book is written and illustrated by an overenthusiastic birdwatcher. In this book, she share her personal experiences encountering these 20 bird species in her ventures throughout Singapore’s parks and gardens. I hope Get To Know Them: Introduction to Singapore’s Common Bird Folk will appeal to both the beginner and experienced adventurer, as I aim to utilize my story to breathe new life and offer a new and more positive perspective regarding what is often overlooked by the public; the common neighborhood birds. A portion of this book’s profits will be donated to National Parks Board to fund wildlife conservation and research facilities.
