This book honors the memory of the late Professor J. A. Atanda for his contributions to Yoruba scholarship and society. The editors are both historians: Toyin Falola teaches at the University of Texas at Austin and Professor Dipo Olubomehin has served as the Head of Department and Dean, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria.
