Voices From the Village, is a Pasifika Anthology from 39 Pasifika writers from Tokelau, Tuvalu, Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji and Aotearoa. Many reside in Australia and New Zealand. The writers range from 89 years to 9 years old, hence the term village and this is how the book is organised. From the eldest to the youngest. Pasifika writers and author Jennifer Faraimo-Dakuna and Leiana Matapuku Foua have collaborated this new body of work in the hope to encourage more Pasifika peoples to publish their stories. The books also self-published by a Pasifika publishing company called VoyagInk Publishing. We acknowledge the traditional Indigenous owners of the land and regions of: - Gladstone, Queensland, Australia, the people of Gooreng Gooreng, Bailai and Gurang tribes - Blackwater, Central Highlands, Queensland, Australia-Ghungalu people - Cranborne, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, the Mayone Balluk clan and the Boonerwrung and Kulin nation. We acknowledge your elders, your leaders and communities, both past, present and emerging. We acknowledge that it was on your traditional lands that we found rest and revitalisation in compiling this book and for which we are profoundly grateful.
