Cermor is an oral storytelling session among the Semai people of the Orang Asli community. It is usually told at night or as a form of entertainment as well as to convey moral teachings, taboos, and so on. To prevent the listener from falling asleep and to recollect each story and message contained in the cermor, it is customary for him/her to respond or "piherk" by saying "ha'ah".
