This book is intended to achieve three things. The first is to present a comprehensive history of Ilorin Emirate as concisely and objectively as possible. The second objective is to elucidate the inter-connections between the history of Ilorin and the histories of the Yorubas, the Sokoto Caliphate and the Emirates of Nupeland. The third intention is to stimulate intellectual curiosity for a re-appraisal of some of the commonly held but intrinsically erroneous postulations about some aspects of Ilorin Emirate's history.
