This novel centres on Joy, a young secondary school leaver caught in the web of conflict. The story takes us back to the period of the civil war and later years with all its destructive tendencies. Joy is unable to save herself and her parents from the fierce brink of war: she watches her parents hacked to death by soldiers purposely to gain her for sexual pleasure.
