Prepared for the Tarlac Sesquicentennial, the publication ponders and explicates on the beginnings of the province as an edge, a fort and a passageway--then among the last hinterlands--of the Central Luzon region of the Philippines. Through micro-historical treatments, toponymic discources, and vignetting of local history, an updated provincial history is thus being presented , with the intent of correcting as well as the lapses of what had been written so far.
