Balıkesir: Land of the Olive was written in order to record Balıkesir's olive and olive oil culture and to pass on this valuable legacy to future generations. The two years of research for this book included meetings with olive producers who perform a labour of love, people who give life to the olive and the original products of the splendid olive groves of the Kapıdag peninsula and the shores of the Gulf of Edremit (Olive Plantation/Economy)
