Over one hundred years since their death the story of the martyrs of Uganda remains as relevant as ever. To an outsider their story must sound fantastic. Here is a number of men and boys who, within a few years from first hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, have the courage to live and die by its paradox: 'Anyone who wants to save his life will lose it, but anyone who loses his life for my sake, will save it.' Telling the story of the Martyrs is one way of once again putting this ideal before us. It is one way of showing that the Gospel of Christ makes more sense than our common sense.
