Since its beginnings, legal process outsourcing has rapidly grown into a billion-dollar industry and is a coveted business model. In this model, legal professionals and law fi rms send legal work to other locations, both onshore and offshore. Despite increasing ethical concerns about the challenges it poses to the practice of law, legal process outsourcing has remained unregulated. This book critically discusses the ways in which outsourcing legal work challenges the legal and ethical codes underpinning the legal profession, and asks whether the introduction of a regulatory framework will assist in promoting accountability and eliminating ethical concerns.
