The genesis of this book lies in the question that both of us faced at the start of our teaching careers. Students of architecture wanted to know the appropriate architecture for Pakistan’ and its sources. The question was sometimes well articulated in written papers, and at others, it cropped up at the time of examinations, juries, as we architects call them.
