Anand Alam grew up in Pakistan and left for the US to pursue his college. He studied history as an undergraduate and creative writing (poetry) as a graduate student. After living, writing and teaching for more than two decades in the USA he returned to Pakistan. Inspired by translation project on Madho Lal Hussein the celebrated 16th century poet-saint he started to explore the possibilities of switching to Punjabi his mother tongue as means of literary expression. His most recent work is a bilingual (Punjabi and English) collection of poems, of others. (Poems/Poetry).
