I am extremely pleased to see a book on Epigraphy by an Engineer, which is very rare and unbelievable to some extent. Epigraphy is a highly specialized branch of study in Archaeology, and it has not been familiar even to some present-day Archaeologists in Sri Lanka. To learn Epigraphy, one should not only be wise, but should be devoted to learning. It is a dead language and unprofitable to contemporary market-oriented world. Therefore, thinking of writing a book on Epigraphy itself should be highly appreciated.
