The history of a nation or institution is often defined by major events in its past, events which are often traumatic and life altering. For the nation of Singapore and its Church, that event was World War 2 and the period of Japanese Occupation that followed. The year 2022 marks the 80th anniversary of the Fall of Singapore and as the nation and the Church pause to reflect on the events of the War and as they recount the circumstances they faced, they might begin to discern the clear evidence of God’s providence and how He has shaped the nation and the Anglican Church through this painful experience.
