The greatest challenge to building a great nation is bad leadership. Leadership remains the main determinant factor in nation-building. In the Nigerian case, we started leadership wrong from the family level, where the leaders- father and mother- eat the big pieces and choice meat, while the followers- children, end up with the leftover. This master-leader model is what plays out generally at all levels in society. So, the leaders at all levels of governance have become selfish, and flamboyant in their lifestyle: playing out with rulers growing fat, while the ruled grow lean.
