The present Volume, Unity in Diversity: History and Culture of Sri Lanka is a revised and modified second edition of The Facets of Sri Lankan History and Culture that was published in 2015. The articles in this volume divided into five parts of unequal length are on a variety of themes: The Pali chronicles (the Dipavamsa and the Mahavamsa), Kingship and dynastic power, Merchant communities, Princes and urbanization, History of Religion: Hinduism and Buddhism, South India and Sri Lanka, Modern Education and the University of Peradeniya.
