The book chronicles a historical development of education from the 18th century in the colonial Gold Coast to the time of independence in Ghana. And more important, some aspects of education including utility and intrinsic values as well as holistic and value-based education, which underpin quality education, have all been explained and analysed. Furthermore, this book relates education to the various aspects of nation-building including: employment, the roles of academia, technical and vocational training, environmental issues etc; and some suggested ways forward.
