This monograph documents the discovery of Chos dbyings rdo rje (1604–1674), the leader of the Tibetan bKa' brgyud order, as a great previously undocumented artist. During fourteen expeditions taking place in the 1990s, the author was able to discover in Tibet twenty-one sculptures made of copper, brass, silver, ivory, and sandalwood associated with the Tenth Karmapa. In this book some twenty sculptures and twenty-two paintings associated with Chos dbyings rdo je are published for the first time.
