In a three year research project (2019-2021), conducted in collaboration with the San and KhoiKhoi leaders and their communities based in the Eastern Cape Province, Magda Minguzzi explored with them the meaning of indigenous heritage (places), their sense of belonging, and how they express this sense of belonging today. The ten interviews were fully transcribed and are included in the book. The research group visited several pre-colonial heritage sites that the Chiefs indicated were important, and recorded folk stories linked to these sites.
