Barry Cohen tells the story of his ancestors' arduous journey from Eastern Europe to Cape Town. In 1904, when the Nazis invaded Lithuania, Bentze and Sorah Hoffman decided to flee their shtetl of Pokroy to seek refuge in South Africa, and to send their sons, Chaim and Abram, aged ten and twelve, ahead on their own.
