Sibongile Vilakazi on being dismissed for gross misconduct by Wits University after taking up full-time employment with another company without informing or obtaining approval from the university. In 2023 the Labour Court of South Africa upheld the CCMA decision that her dismissal for moonlighting was both substantively and procedurally fair, a judgement Vilakazi contests. In her book she offers "the alternative narrative" to this "single story".
